 ernational Conference on Fracture – ICF16 Melbourne 2027" width="1500" h
eight="500"></p><h2>Structural Integrity for Sustainability &amp\; Circula
 r Economy</h2><p>From 28 June to 2 July 2027\, the international fracture
community will meet at RMIT University’s City Campus in Melbourne for IC
F16. Often described as the “Olympics of Fracture Mechanics”\, the qua
drennial conference returns to Australia for the first time in 30 years an
d brings together researchers\, engineers\, industry specialists and early
-career scientists from around the world.</p><p>Hosted by the Internationa
l Congress on Fracture with the Australian Fracture Group\, Engineers Aust
ralia and RMIT University\, ICF16 combines leading research with practical
questions of durability\, safety and sustainable design. Plenary and hono
ur lectures\, parallel thematic symposia\, mini-symposia\, poster contribu
tions\, short courses and technical visits create space for both new scien
tific ideas and international cooperation.</p><h3>Scientific scope</h3><p>
The programme spans fracture\, fatigue\, damage tolerance and structural i
ntegrity across materials and length scales\, including:</p><ul><li>advanc
 ed metals\, composites\, ceramics\, polymers and biomaterials</li><li>comp
 utational\, multiscale and data-driven fracture mechanics</li><li>hydrogen
  embrittlement\, corrosion fatigue and high-temperature failure</li><li>ad
ditive manufacturing\, non-destructive testing and structural health monit
 oring</li><li>applications in energy\, transport\, civil infrastructure\,
aerospace and biomedical engineering</li></ul><h3>Why it matters for the E
SIS community</h3><p>ICF16 offers ESIS Austria members an exceptional oppo
rtunity to present current work\, follow developments across the full fiel
d of fracture and structural integrity\, and build connections with an int
ernational technical community. The conference theme places our discipline
s at the centre of longer component life\, circular use of materials and m
 ore reliable engineering systems.</p><h3>Important dates</h3><ul><li><stro
